Upcoming programming

Digital arts are the reason for Lumifest's existence. An impressive lineup of about fifteen works will allow festival-goers to wander through a Vieux-Longueuil enhanced with projections, mystery, and a lot of light!

East and West entrances of the site

«I See You / Will You See Me?»
Anamika Deb

Set designer, digital artist, and space magician, Anamika Deb transforms technology into sensory poetry.

She's signing the animation of the impressive circular screens at the entrances for Lumifest with «I See You / Will You See Me?, a video installation that explores the presence and reciprocity of the gaze. It acknowledges the viewer — I see you — and invites you to dive into its different layers — Will you see me? Located at both the entrance and exit of the festival, the work frames the visitors' journey and encourages them to fully immerse themselves in the experience. By creating a dialogue between humans and their environment, it offers a spatial immersion that weaves an intimate and sensitive link with the public.

St. Mark's Park - East Side

In the Lumicube:
beam splicer and
Le laboratoire D'Atargatis 2.0

beamSplicer is an interactive video-laser mapping system installed in a retro-styled arcade cabinet. Its nostalgic design—featuring mechanical buttons and joysticks—playfully contrasts with the cutting-edge laser effects and real-time projections it displays, inviting people of all ages to interact and play.

Atargatis Laboratory is an interactive and immersive installation that invites the public to explore a post-anthropocene laboratory led by Atargatis, a transhuman creature traveling through the universe in search of habitable planets. Through a series of interactive experiments and logbooks, participants can reflect on the consequences of human actions on ecosystems and interact with Atargatis's universe through sensors and advanced digital technologies.

These installations will be presented on the Lumicube, the new Lumifest project on the run.

beamSplicer is a work of  BunBun Chelsea Liggatt supermarket salad (Simon David Rydén) and Ziggy Halliday (AVX Lab).

Atargatis's Laboratory is a work by the collective PinkCloud under the artistic direction of Matthieu Thoër.

Cégep Édouard-Montpetit
Multimedia Integration Techniques

The graduates of the Multimedia Integration Techniques [TIM] program propose a digital transformation of the heart of St. Mark's Park and its famous gazebo. Thus, 2 projects, developed, and even integrated for the first time last March, will be presented to the general public.

Introspectre is an immersive infinite room made of mirrors and reactive LED strips. The garlands respond to movements detected by a crystal ball placed at the center of the installation, projecting shifting reflections that envelop the visitor in an experience that is as captivating as it is disorienting. The angles of the room and the carefully designed lighting create a vivid and memorable impression.

Synergia is an interactive installation where light and music meet to offer a unique experience. You will be immersed in a space animated by five rotating light sticks, named Orbital, which create fascinating visual effects through their dynamic movements and lighting effects that you control by moving cubes.

A porthole onto a world of BLOB

In the heart of Old Longueuil, the BMO facade transforms into a giant porthole. Through this opening, a strange and playful world comes to life: that of the BLOB.

St. Mark's Church

HE/ART

HE/ART is an immersive work by digital artist Jocelyn Leduc presented by the Longueuil Arts Council. Through its repetitive beating motion, the complexity of its anatomy, and the sound it emits, the heart has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artist Jocelyn Leduc.

This one wishes to transform the church into a digital altar to invite the public on a non-narrative, multisensory journey through the full spectrum of human experience.
